A retreat for fun-loving people ages 55+ who want to learn and grow!
Package:
Though Charlie Ness has “retired” from ministry, his heart for evangelism won’t let him stop! In 1990, Charlie, along with his wife, Janet, had accepted a one-year call to be the interim pastor at Perkiomenville Mennonite Church. They stayed 31 years! Over they years they have served 3 churches, and he is currently the Associate Pastor at Towamencin Mennonite Church. He has also been a beloved Fireside speaker at Spruce Lake’s summer camp for 46 years.
Charlie helped start Liberty Ministries to enable men released from prison to find a new start, and led prison Bible studies at what was formerly called Graterford State Prison. He is a driving force behind the local Men’s Encounter that challenges men to choose God’s ways.
Charlie enjoys playing disc golf, gardening and woodworking. He and Janet have been married 56 years.
A singer & songwriter, pianist & concert artist, Frances Drost blends life stories with superb instrumentation and heart-touching lyrics. She has also served as Director of Worship at several churches, and writes music for “Songs of Love,” an organization that brings terminally ill children and songwriters together.
Frances’ newest release, “Sunrise Meditations,” features solo piano and nature’s sounds woven into classic hymns and hints of classical melodies. Her Christmas/Winter release, “Portraits of White,” is a delightful mix of familiar carols and new tunes. This project has also launched a piano & orchestral concert that people call the highlight of their holiday.
Joining Frances on the piano Tuesday evening will be violinist Jonny Tice. While serving as Spruce Lake’s Director, Jonny enjoys playing the violin, piano or guitar for worship, coffeehouses and other events. Together they will present a spiritually moving concert!
