Ellen & Kats is a NY/NJ based singing duo composed of Ellen San Miguel and Kathryn Alvir. Having been professional singers as early as their teens, Ellen and Kats have been actively performing in concerts, shows, and festivals within the Filipino community until a very significant day in 2010 when they were invited to a church service, their first one ever, being raised Catholic, to serenade a pastor and his wife for their wedding anniversary. That very day they received Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, and since then they have found a new calling and a new direction for their music desiring to use their voices to worship and bring glory to God. Ellen is the Worship Coordinator and drummer/vocalist for the River of Praise Tabernacle worship team, of which Kats was also a background vocalist. They are currently recording an indie Contemporary Christian album project of their original compositions.
Ellen and Kats also co-own and operate a baking and custom design cake business called Filled Confections, where they include bible scriptures either on the cake or on the cake boxes with the hopes of “spreading the Word one cake at a time”. Ellen and Kats were featured in The Cooking Channel’s show called Holy & Hungry hosted by Sherri Shepherd (Season 1, Episode 4), where they made a bible-designed cake.
