Spruce Lake proudly partners with various charities and organizations that are on a mission we truly believe in. We support them because they each make a positive and genuine impact within the communities they serve.

Christian Overcomers, Inc

Christian Overcomers provides caring outreach programs for adults with physical and developmental disabilities, many of whom live in group homes or care facilities.

Christian Overcomers Camp, held at Spruce Lake, is a place where people with disabilities can come and be treated with respect. Volunteers show campers how much God loves them, and offer one-on-one attention that large facilities and group homes often cannot provide. Campers and volunteers form bonds that are present not only during that week but throughout the year. At Spruce Lake, no one is left out. Individuals with challenges can freely enjoy activities that they couldn’t normally do, such as swimming, volleyball, movie nights, and even performing in a talent show!

For 44 years,  Spruce Lake staff have engaged with Christian Overcomers guests and volunteers. They become our friends and seek us out when they visit year after year – and they look forward to their Spruce Lake week with high anticipation! The dedication and faithfulness of their leaders is exemplary. Together we become “as Christ” as we serve those who live with disability.

Joni and Friends

Joni and Friends is an international ministry that shares the hope of the Gospel and provides practical care and services for people impacted by disability. Their headquarters is in Agoura Hills, CA. Their Pennsylvania location, with which Spruce Lake closely relates, has offices in Lancaster and Lansdale that serve most of New York state, New Jersey, Delaware, Maryland, and Northern Virginia.

The impact of Joni and Friends is far-reaching. More than 64,000 special needs family members have been served at their Retreats and Getaways. Around the world, they’ve also delivered more than 200,000 wheelchairs and Bibles.

Family Retreats help families navigate the challenges of disability, offering a rich, Christ-centered environment where each person is valued as an image-bearer of God. In a relationship that spans 31 years, Spruce Lake currently hosts three highly rewarding Family Retreats each year. The families that attend bless us with their immense joy to be here, and many count the days until they can return to Retreat! Joni and Friends leaders are well-organized, creative, and filled with passion for their mission of evangelizing, discipling, and serving people with disabilities.

Together, we’re creating a world where every person with a disability finds hope, dignity, and their place in the body of Christ.

Mennonite Camping Association

Mennonite Camping Association has been a connecting place since 1960 for camping ministries rooted in the Mennonite/Anabaptist faith tradition from across the United States and Canada.

Member camps lead their church and camp communities on a journey of transformation through seeking God’s face in Creation, receiving God’s love in Christ, and radiating God’s Spirit in the world. They work together on mutual concerns, share ministry experiences and promote church camping.

Spruce Lake has had a relationship with Mennonite Camping Association for 58 years, and continues to take turns hosting regional and binational events of learning and fellowship. These events bless all of us as we share ministry life with siblings of the same faith family.

Christian Camp & Conference Association

Christian Camp and Conference Association (CCCA) maximizes ministry for member camps and conference centers across the United States by providing a vast range of resources, programs, products and services. CCCA addresses specific needs and concerns that members experience, and provides opportunities to connect with one another professionally and personally.

A shared Christian faith unites each of the nearly 900 members of CCCA, with healthy diversity as a result! Most major denominations and church associations, along with many nationally recognized youth & adult ministries, are represented. While sharing biblical values, each CCCA member is unique in terms of facilities and program.

Spruce Lake has been a member since 1972 – a relationship of 50 years! Staff participate in CCCA’s Mid-Atlantic Sectional each year and take turns hosting this event. Our leadership team also attends their annual National Convention. A CCCA event is always enriching, inspiring, and laced with fun!
