Experiential Christian Outdoor Education in the Pocono Mountains
At Spruce Lake, we offer a thorough outdoor education program that shows students the miracles of God’s creation. Here, learning is an adventure, a discovery, a celebration, and knowledge grounded in biblical truth.
Our mission at Spruce Lake Outdoor School is to provide Christ-centered discoveries in an outdoor setting through experiential learning opportunities for participants of all ages.

Christian School Groups
Bring your student group of grades 4-12 to Spruce Lake for a retreat they won’t forget!
Team-building & adventure activities plus compelling lessons on wildlife and outdoor skills create a unique learning experience that can become the highlight of your school year.
This is a midweek program offered from September through mid-November, and mid-March through May. Programs can be booked for one to three days. Our entire curriculum complements your own study areas, as well as teaching concepts of leadership, personal growth and spiritual development.

Homeschool
For local homeschool families and co-ops in grades 4-12, we offer a wide range of curriculum for your group. Experience and learn about nature at Spruce Lake with your children. One to three-day stays can be customized to fit the specific needs of your homeschool group or association.
Outdoor Education Curriculum
Our team of outdoor educators offer flexible curriculum based on the season, your group’s ages, and their goals. Here are some of the categories of classes:
- Adventure Program – Teambuilding courses, giant swing, zip lines and climbing elements
- Animal Life – Survival Ecology Game, Skulls & Skins, Reptiles & Amphibians
- Outdoor Skills – Fire-building, orienteering, and archery
- Forest & Aquatic Communities – Various hikes, Pond Community
Accommodations
Outdoor education retreats are available during the fall, winter, and spring for 1-3 night overnight trips. Group lodging is provided at our Youth Campus.

Spruce Lake Outdoor School is a Christ-centered educational program of Spruce Lake Ministries in the Pocono Mountains of northeast Pennsylvania. With over 900 acres of woods, fields and mountain streams to explore, our landscape is ideal for discovering and learning about God’s awesome creation!
